O cr\u00edtico estabelece rela\u00e7\u00f5es entre a obra de Rembrandt e Picasso, que foi profundamente influenciado pelo &#8220;fantasma&#8221; do mestre holand\u00eas. J\u00e1 havia notado a presen\u00e7a curiosa de um c\u00e3o, em destaque, representado em pleno ato de defeca\u00e7\u00e3o na obra &#8220;O bom samaritano&#8221;, de Rembrandt. Esse detalhe \u00e9 destacado por Schama, que indaga : &#8221; Was it really necessary to have a dog defecate in front of the Good Samaritan?
