Do velho Tempo \u00e9s filha predileta!<br \/>\nTudo alteras, com o olhar que tudo inquire e invade!<br \/>\nPor que rasgas assim o cora\u00e7\u00e3o do poeta,<br \/>\nabutre, que asas tens de triste Realidade?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\">Poderia ele amar-te, achar sabedoria<br \/>\nem ti, se ousas cortar seu voo errante e ao l\u00e9u<br \/>\nquando tenta extrair os tesouros do c\u00e9u,<br \/>\nmesmo que a asa se eleve ind\u00f4mita e bravia?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\">N\u00e3o furtaste a Diana o carro? E n\u00e3o for\u00e7aste<br \/>\na Hamadr\u00edade do bosque a procurar, fugindo,<br \/>\nestrela mais feliz, que para sempre a esconda?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\">N\u00e3o arrancaste \u00e0 Ninfa as car\u00edcias da onda,<br \/>\ne ao Elfo a verde relva? E a mim, n\u00e3o me roubaste<br \/>\no sonho de ver\u00e3o ao p\u00e9 do tamarindo?<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\">O Eu-l\u00edrico julga que a Ci\u00eancia tenha acabado com as fantasias do Poeta, e portanto demonstra agressividade contra ela.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\">Quantas n\u00e3o s\u00e3o as pessoas que pensam, da mesma forma que o poema acima, que saber demais tira a beleza das coisas?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\">Sobre isso, mais que apropriadamente, escreveu Richard Feynman certa vez:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\">Poets say science takes away from the beauty of the stars \u2014 mere globs of gas atoms. Nothing is &#8220;mere&#8221;. I too can see the stars on a desert night, and feel them. But do I see less or more? The vastness of the heavens stretches my imagination \u2014 stuck on this carousel my little eye can catch one-million-year-old light. A vast pattern \u2014 of which I am a part&#8230; What is the pattern or the meaning or the <em>why?<\/em> <strong>It does not do harm to the mystery to know a little more about it. For far more marvelous is the truth than any artists of the past imagined it. Why do the poets of the present not speak of it? What men are poets who can speak of Jupiter if he were a man, but if he is an immense spinning sphere of methane and ammonia must be silent?<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\">E traduzindo porcamente:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\">Poetas dizem que a ci\u00eancia tira a beleza das estrelas &#8211; meros globos de g\u00e1s. Nada \u00e9 &#8220;mero&#8221;. Eu tamb\u00e9m posso ver as estrelas \u00e0 noite e sent\u00ed-las. Mas eu vejo menos ou mais? A vastid\u00e3o dos c\u00e9us expande minha imagina\u00e7\u00e3o &#8211; preso neste carrossel meu pequeno olho pode captar luz de um milh\u00e3o de anos. Uma estrutura vasta &#8211; da qual eu fa\u00e7o parte&#8230; Qual \u00e9 a estrutura ou o significado ou o por qu\u00ea? <strong>N\u00e3o prejudica o mist\u00e9rio saber um pouco mais sobre ele, porque a verdade \u00e9 muito mais maravilhosa do que qualquer artista do passado tenha imaginado. Por que os poetas do presente n\u00e3o falam dela? Que pessoas s\u00e3o os poetas que podem falar de J\u00fapiter como se fosse um homem mas que se calam se for uma imensa esfera girante de am\u00f4nia e metano? <\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\">\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\"><strong>E o que voc\u00eas acham?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\">\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\">Achei o v\u00eddeo no <a href=\"http:\/\/3quarksdaily.blogs.com\/3quarksdaily\/2008\/07\/edgar-allan-poe.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">3 Quarks Daily<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Science! true daughter of Old Time thou art!
