No futuro, outras batidas transformariam algumas luas em novos an\u00e9is.<\/h4>\n<p align=\"justify\">\n<p align=\"justify\">Ele \u00e9 grande, azulado, g\u00e9lido e rola em vez de girar. Situado entre Saturno e Netuno, Urano \u00e9 definitivamente um mundo esquisito. Sua atmosfera \u00e9 a mais fria do Sistema Solar, com m\u00e9dias de 216 graus negativos e ventos fort\u00edssimos. Cercado por um t\u00eanue anel, o planeta tem luas relativamente pequenas e muito pr\u00f3ximas entre si. Qual seria a causa de todas essas caracter\u00edsticas?<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Uma trombada gigantesca nos prim\u00f3rdios do Sistema Solar tem sido proposta como essa causa. H\u00e1 cerca de 4 bilh\u00f5es de anos, segundo a teoria, Urano teria sido atingido por um proto-planeta feito de gelo e rochas. Comprovar essa hip\u00f3tese parece algo quase imposs\u00edvel, j\u00e1 que um planeta gasoso como Urano n\u00e3o pode ter crateras de impacto. Ainda que houvesse uma superf\u00edcie, a essa altura os ind\u00edcios da batida colossal j\u00e1 estariam muito esmaecidos pela eros\u00e3o do solo provocada por mil\u00eanios de ventanias medonhas.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Mesmo assim, uma equipe internacional liderada por astr\u00f4nomos da Universidade Durham (Reino Unido) resolveu investigar os motivos que levaram Urano a ter um eixo de rota\u00e7\u00e3o quase perpendicular em rela\u00e7\u00e3o aos demais planetas. Para testar a hip\u00f3tese da colis\u00e3o, os cientistas realizaram uma s\u00e9rie de simula\u00e7\u00f5es computacionais em alta resolu\u00e7\u00e3o.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Ap\u00f3s trabalhar em mais de 50 cen\u00e1rios com diferentes par\u00e2metros de impacto, a equipe coordenada pelo cosmologista Jacob Kegerreis chegou \u00e0 conclus\u00e3o de que &#8220;o resultado mais prov\u00e1vel \u00e9 que o jovem Urano teria se envolvido numa colis\u00e3o catacl\u00edsmica com um objeto com o dobro da massa da Terra \u2014 ou at\u00e9 maior&#8221;. Essa colis\u00e3o catacl\u00edsmica foi um impacto duplo. O primeiro choque, mais superficial, colocou o proto-planeta em uma nova rota de colis\u00e3o. A batida final foi t\u00e3o intensa que alterou a inclina\u00e7\u00e3o do eixo de rota\u00e7\u00e3o do planeta. Segundo as simula\u00e7\u00f5es de Kegerreis <em>et. al.<\/em>, a resposta \u00e9 n\u00e3o. Apesar de duplo, o impacto foi profundo o bastante para entortar o eixo de rota\u00e7\u00e3o mas superficial demais para dispersar a atmosfera. Naquela altura, Urano j\u00e1 era um gigante gasoso e deve ter perdido bem pouco material.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Al\u00e9m de tombar o planeta, esse evento teve consequ\u00eancias dentro e fora de Urano. A parte mais pesada do material proto-planet\u00e1rio teria afundado, formando uma fina camada isolante ao redor do calor emanado pelo n\u00facleo de Urano. Com o calor preso dentro do planeta, a atmosfera resfriou-se de maneira extrema. Os destro\u00e7os mais leves seguiram uma trajet\u00f3ria oposta e passaram a orbitar ao redor de Urano, formando suas pequenas luas e talvez seu discreto anel.<\/p>\n<figure style=\"width: 800px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/3c1703fe8d.site.internapcdn.net\/newman\/csz\/news\/800\/2018\/1-cataclysmicc.jpg\" alt=\"'Cataclysmic' collision shaped Uranus' evolution\" width=\"800\" height=\"480\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Esta imagem composta obtida em 2004 no Observat\u00f3rio Keck mostra os dois hemisf\u00e9rios de Urano. Keck Observatory]<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p align=\"justify\">Kegerreis e seus colegas acabam de publicar suas descobertas em artigo no <em>Astrophysical Journal<\/em>. Mas essa n\u00e3o \u00e9 a \u00fanica pesquisa recente envolvendo Urano e suas colis\u00f5es. Com base em observa\u00e7\u00f5es realizadas pela Voyager entre 1977 e 2002, Robert Chancia, Matthew Hedman (ambos da Universidade de Idaho) e Richard French (Wellesley College), sugerem que o planeta torto pode ter mais colis\u00f5es no futuro. Ao estudar um dos an\u00e9is do planeta, esse trio de pesquisadores americanos descobriu uma deforma\u00e7\u00e3o gravitacional causada por Cressida, uma das luas de Urano.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Verificando a influ\u00eancia de Cressida sobre os sat\u00e9lites mais pr\u00f3ximos, Chancia <em>et. al.<\/em> perceberam que essa lua est\u00e1 em rota de colis\u00e3o com Desd\u00eamona. Atualmente, a dist\u00e2ncia entre as \u00f3rbitas de Cressida e Desd\u00eamona \u00e9 de apenas 900 km. Segundo o artigo pr\u00e9-publicado em agosto passado na plataforma <em>arXiv<\/em>, essas duas luas devem colidir \u2014 mas s\u00e3o t\u00e3o lentas, leves e porosas que isso s\u00f3 deve acontecer dentro de 1 milh\u00e3o de anos. Esse futuro impacto n\u00e3o ser\u00e1 o \u00fanico: Cupido e Belinda tamb\u00e9m poder\u00e3o trombar em algum momento.
