As nuvens da atmosfera terrestre est\u00e3o ficando mais baixas, segundo dados de um sat\u00e9lite da NASA. Mas antes de soar alarmes apocal\u00edticos, \u00e9 bom saber que isso pode ser uma boa not\u00edcia.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Cientistas da Universidade de Auckland, na Nova Zel\u00e2ndia, analisaram medi\u00e7\u00f5es de altitudes de nuvens feitas entre mar\u00e7o de 2000 e fevereiro de 2010 pela sonda Terra, da NASA. Rec\u00e9m-publicada na <em>Geophysical Research Letters<\/em>, a an\u00e1lise revela uma tend\u00eancia de diminui\u00e7\u00e3o generalizada na altitude das nuvens. Ao longo da d\u00e9cada pesquisada, a m\u00e9dia global de altitude de nuvens caiu cerca de 1%, o que equivale a algo entre 30 e 40 metros de diferen\u00e7a. (Imagem: JPL\/NASA)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">L\u00edder da pesquisa, o professor Roger Davies afirma que, embora ainda seja muito pouco para ser uma tend\u00eancia definitiva, a varia\u00e7\u00e3o observada pode indicar que est\u00e1 acontecendo algo importante nos c\u00e9us da Terra. Ao consultar as refer\u00eancias ao estudo citado, descobrimos que Roger Davies continuou fazendo investiga\u00e7\u00f5es sobre o assunto ao longo da \u00faltima d\u00e9cada. Naturalmente, os novos dados alteraram as conclus\u00f5es do estudo original. Numa revis\u00e3o publicada no<a href=\"https:\/\/agupubs.onlinelibrary.wiley.com\/doi\/abs\/10.1002\/2017JD026456\"><em> Journal of Geophysical Research: Atmosphere<\/em><\/a> em 2017, Davies faz corre\u00e7\u00f5es ao estudo de 2012 e acrescenta dados at\u00e9 2015. Segundo essa pesquisa subsequente, as varia\u00e7\u00f5es de altitude de nuvens entre 2010-15 foram menores, praticamente anulando os efeitos do per\u00edodo anterior (2000-10). As varia\u00e7\u00f5es se d\u00e3o mais em per\u00edodo anual, sem padr\u00e3o claro, ainda que pare\u00e7a haver influ\u00eancia dos fen\u00f4menos de El Ni\u00f1o e La Ni\u00f1a. Em s\u00edntese: embora a redu\u00e7\u00e3o da altitude das nuvens tenha o potencial de reduzir o aquecimento global, esse fen\u00f4meno ainda tem um alcance muito pequeno e uma dura\u00e7\u00e3o muito curta para ter qualquer efeito a longo prazo.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>De certo modo, sim.
