Esta casa \u00e9 assombrada &#8211; ou pelo menos foi isso que disse a Justi\u00e7a nova-iorquina.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify\">Se voc\u00ea quer vender uma casa em Nova York, \u00e9 melhor certificar-se de que o im\u00f3vel n\u00e3o \u00e9 assombrado antes de fechar o neg\u00f3cio. Pelo menos essa foi a decis\u00e3o da Suprema Corte do Estado de Nova York no caso <i>Stambovsky v. Ackley<\/i> \u2014 a.k.a. \u201caquele caso <i>Ghostbusters <\/i>de 1991\u201d.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify\">Quando Jeffrey Stambovsky fez uma oferta para comprar a casa de Helen Ackley em Nyack, NY, ele n\u00e3o sabia que ela (a casa, n\u00e3o a Sra. Ackley) era assombrada. O assustado (e cr\u00e9dulo) comprador tentou desfazer o neg\u00f3cio ap\u00f3s assinar o contrato, mas foi judicialmente impedido de desistir da compra.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify\">Stambovsky recorreu da decis\u00e3o. Durante o novo julgamento, a corte superior notou que, uma vez que a vendedora havia relatado a presen\u00e7a de fantasmas em uma fonte confi\u00e1vel \u2014 a revista <i>Sele\u00e7\u00f5es<\/i> do <i>Reader&#8217;s Digest \u2014<\/i>, ela n\u00e3o podia negar a exist\u00eancia deles diante do comprador. \u201cEm termos legais,\u201d determinou a justi\u00e7a estadual de Nova York, \u201ca casa \u00e9 assombrada.\u201d<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify\">E, por causa disso, um comprador n\u00e3o deveria descobir os fantasmas ap\u00f3s a aquisi\u00e7\u00e3o do im\u00f3vel. Os fantasmas seriam um \u201cdefeito\u201d da casa e Mrs. Ackley seria culpada pela venda desonesta. Para a corte nova-iorquina, mesmo \u201ca inspe\u00e7\u00e3o e busca mais meticulosas n\u00e3o revelariam a presen\u00e7a de <i>poltergeists <\/i>preliminarmente nem derrubariam a reputa\u00e7\u00e3o fantasmag\u00f3rica que a propriedade tem na comunidade.\u201d&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify\">Resultado: Stambovsky n\u00e3o sofreu qualquer dano, mas conseguiu sair de um contrato sem pagar multa.
