Veio uma chuva de nanopart\u00edculas e a derrubou. Antes de cair, por\u00e9m, a D. Aranha ficou supernanopoderosa e produziu uma seda refor\u00e7ada \u2014 mais forte do que o mais forte fio de aranha conhecido, segundo cientistas italianos.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Que os fios que forma a teia de aranha t\u00eam propriedades fant\u00e1sticas, j\u00e1 se sabe h\u00e1 algum tempo. Mas produzir esse material \u00e9 algo complicado \u2014 afinal, aranhas s\u00e3o bem diferentes dos bichos-da-seda. Al\u00e9m de serem peludos, grandes e terem oito patas, os aracn\u00eddeos de seda mais potente s\u00e3o animais selvagens e t\u00eam comportamentos bem dif\u00edceis de serem domesticados: s\u00e3o bichos territoriais e com tend\u00eancias canibal\u00edsticas. E as pessoas naturalmente tendem a ser aracnof\u00f3bicas.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Mas nada disso impede que os cientistas continuem a estudar as aranhas e seus filhos, perd\u00e3o, seus fios. O que sai do fiof\u00f3 da aranha pode parecer simples (ou complexo), mas a aranha n\u00e3o faz m\u00e1gica. Ela fabrica seu fio com o material que encontra \u00e0 sua volta. \u00c0 procura da seda perfeita, pesquisadores j\u00e1 borrifaram ou alimentaram aranhas com os mais diferentes materiais \u2014 alum\u00ednio, zinco, cobre, tit\u00e2nio, chumbo \u2014 para estudar seus efeitos sobre as propriedades das teias.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Nanomateriais criados em laborat\u00f3rio, como o grafeno e os nanotubos de carbono tamb\u00e9m t\u00eam propriedades f\u00edsicas e qu\u00edmicas bastante interessantes. Liderada por Nicola Maria Pugno (da Universidade de Trento) e movida pela pura curiosidade, uma equipe de pesquisadores italianos resolveu juntar uma ideia com outra para responder \u00e0 seguinte pergunta: o que acontece com a teia se a gente aplicar grafeno em aranhas?<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Para responder a essa pergunta, era preciso arranjar aranhas. Foram escolhidas da fam\u00edlia <em>Pholcidae<\/em>, aquelas pequenas aranhas inofensivas que todo mundo j\u00e1 deve ter visto em casa.<\/p>\n<figure style=\"width: 640px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/scienceblogs.com.br\/hypercubic\/files\/2015\/05\/Pholcus.phalangioides.6905.jpg\" data-rel=\"lightbox-image-1\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"padding-top: 0px;padding-left: 0px;padding-right: 0px;border: 0px\" title=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/scienceblogs.com.br\/hypercubic\/files\/2015\/05\/Pholcus.phalangioides.6905_thumb.jpg\" alt=\"Pholcus.phalangioides.6905\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Ol\u00e1, eu sou uma Pholcus phalangioides.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p align=\"justify\">Quinze dessas aranhazinhas foram capturadas em Torrente Chisone, entre Macello e Garzigliana, na Prov\u00edncia de Torino. Tr\u00eas dias depois, foram levadas a um laborat\u00f3rio em Trento. Amostras de seda natural foram colhidas cinco dias depois. Em seguida, dez delas foram borrifadas com uma solu\u00e7\u00e3o de nanotubo de carbono; outras cinco foram molhadas com uma solu\u00e7\u00e3o de grafeno.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">E o que aconteceu? V\u00e1rias coisas: as produ\u00e7\u00f5es foram vari\u00e1veis, come\u00e7ando entre 2 e 12 dias, quatro aranhas morreram em pouco tempo e duas produziram teias de m\u00e1 qualidade. No entanto, as nove que restaram produziram material muito mais resistente que suas teias comuns.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><a href=\"http:\/\/scienceblogs.com.br\/hypercubic\/files\/2015\/05\/image1.png\" data-rel=\"lightbox-image-2\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\" aligncenter\" style=\"float: none;padding-top: 0px;padding-left: 0px;margin-left: auto;padding-right: 0px;margin-right: auto;border: 0px\" title=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/scienceblogs.com.br\/hypercubic\/files\/2015\/05\/image_thumb1.png\" alt=\"image\" width=\"387\" height=\"480\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Exames espectrosc\u00f3picos revelaram que os nanotubos foram misturados \u00e0 teia recolhida. Testes de resist\u00eancia mostraram que as teias com nanotubos eram at\u00e9 3,5 vezes mais fortes que a seda produzida pela <em>Caerostris darwini<\/em> (as teias da <em>C. darwini<\/em> s\u00e3o o segundo material biol\u00f3gico mais resistente que se conhece).<\/p>\n<figure style=\"width: 480px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/scienceblogs.com.br\/hypercubic\/files\/2015\/05\/Bark_Spider_2011.jpg\" data-rel=\"lightbox-image-3\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"float: none;padding-top: 0px;padding-left: 0px;margin-left: auto;padding-right: 0px;margin-right: auto;border: 0px\" title=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/scienceblogs.com.br\/hypercubic\/files\/2015\/05\/Bark_Spider_2011_thumb.jpg\" alt=\"Bark_Spider_2011\" width=\"480\" height=\"480\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Ol\u00e1, eu sou uma Caerostris darwini<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p align=\"justify\">Como se trata de aranhas f\u00e1ceis de encontrar e praticamente inofensivas, esse m\u00e9todo de produzir teia refor\u00e7ada pode facilitar novos estudos e aplica\u00e7\u00f5es do material. No <em>paper<\/em> publicado em 25\/04 na plataforma <strong><em>arXiv.org<\/em><\/strong>, os cientistas italianos concluem que esse novo refor\u00e7o pode resultar em uma nova classe de materiais bi\u00f4nicos.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Nem tudo est\u00e1 resolvido, por\u00e9m. Os cientistas sabem que as aranhas excretam os nanomateriais atrav\u00e9s da seda, mas ainda n\u00e3o est\u00e1 claro como ocorre esse processo. A produ\u00e7\u00e3o ainda \u00e9 pequena e n\u00e3o se sabe porque algumas aranhas morreram.
