Infelizmente, houve bastante diverg\u00eancia, pois cada um deu a sua resposta. Buscando resolver de uma vez por todas o problema de&nbsp;\u03c0, DUDLEY (1977),&nbsp;matem\u00e1tico&nbsp;da DePauw University, resolveu procurar um consenso atrav\u00e9s da an\u00e1lise de uma sele\u00e7\u00e3o de 50 valores de&nbsp;\u03c0&nbsp;ordenados pelo ano do an\u00fancio:<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify\">\n<table align=\"center\" cellpadding=\"0\" cellspacing=\"0\" class=\"tr-caption-container\" style=\"margin-left: auto;margin-right: auto;text-align: center\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"text-align: center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/scienceblogs.com.br\/hypercubic\/files\/2011\/12\/piiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii1.png\" data-rel=\"lightbox-image-0\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" src=\"http:\/\/scienceblogs.com.br\/hypercubic\/files\/2011\/12\/piiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii1.png\" \/><\/a><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td class=\"tr-caption\" style=\"text-align: center\">\u00c9 mais ou menos por a\u00ed: 3,04862 &lt;&nbsp;<span class=\"Apple-style-span\" style=\"font-size: small\">\u03c0<\/span>&nbsp;&lt; 3,200000<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify\">Surpreendentemente, Underwood Dudley descobriu uma tend\u00eancia preocupante: o valor de&nbsp;\u03c0&nbsp;est\u00e1 diminuindo. Para encontrar o valor de pi para cada ano, Dudley usou a f\u00f3rmula \u03c0<sub>t<\/sub> = 4,59183 \u2013 0,000773<sub>t<\/sub>, onde <b>t<\/b> \u00e9 o ano do c\u00e1lculo do valor exato de pi. Fazendo as continhas, verifica-se que 1876 foi o ano com o pico do pi, co\u2019 pi mais exato: 3,145926535. Desde ent\u00e3o \u2014 admitindo-se um ritmo constante, \u00e9 claro \u2014 o valor de&nbsp;\u03c0&nbsp;vem declinando.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify\">Para ser bem claro, isso pode ter consequ\u00eancias estrogonoficamente catastr\u00f3ficas:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span class=\"Apple-style-span\" style=\"font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif\">Quando \u03c0<sub>t<\/sub> for igual a 1, <span class=\"Apple-style-span\" style=\"font-size: x-small\">[alerta Dudley]<\/span> a circunfer\u00eancia de um c\u00edrculo ser\u00e1 igual ao seu di\u00e2metro. Assim, todos os c\u00edrculos v\u00e3o entrar em colapso. O mesmo ocorrer\u00e1 com as esferas (uma vez que elas t\u00eam sec\u00e7\u00f5es circulares), entre elas a Terra e o Sol. Ser\u00e1, de fato, o fim do mundo, que vai acontecer em 9 de agosto de 4646, exatos 3 minutos em 27 segundos antes das 9 da manh\u00e3.<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify\">Entretanto, h\u00e1 uma boa not\u00edcia (pelo menos para os seus netos): \u201cSer\u00e1 particularmente f\u00e1cil calcular circunfer\u00eancias de c\u00edrculos em 2059, quando \u03c0<sub>t<\/sub>= 3\u201d.
