J\u00e1 parou para pensar em como essas esp\u00e9cies garantem que a sua descend\u00eancia tenha as mesmas caracter\u00edsticas da esp\u00e9cie?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">A ideia de como as informa\u00e7\u00f5es sobre como os organismos fazem c\u00f3pias de si mesmos, assim como a instru\u00e7\u00e3o para a constru\u00e7\u00e3o de estruturas e funcionamento de um novo organismo, foi um mist\u00e9rio por um longo tempo. As primeiras pe\u00e7as do quebra-cabe\u00e7a para entendermos como as informa\u00e7\u00f5es est\u00e3o organizadas nos organismos come\u00e7aram a ser encontradas h\u00e1 muitos anos.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Para se ter uma ideia, a c\u00e9lula, a estrutura m\u00ednima que comp\u00f5e os seres vivos, foi descoberta por volta de 1660 gra\u00e7as a inven\u00e7\u00e3o do microsc\u00f3pio. Quando Robert Hooke olhou para as fatias finas de corti\u00e7a atrav\u00e9s do microsc\u00f3pio, viu que elas eram compostas por pequenas estruturas, que lembravam buraquinhos de um favo de mel a que ele deu o nome de c\u00e9lula (pequena cela).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Esse foi s\u00f3 o in\u00edcio. Com o desenvolvimento da ci\u00eancia e o aparecimento de novos instrumentos e t\u00e9cnicas continuamos a descobrir cada vez mais sobre essa pequena unidade que nos comp\u00f5e.<\/p>\n<h5 style=\"text-align: justify\">O n\u00facleo de tudo isso<\/h5>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">A unidade morfol\u00f3gica em que se baseia a vida, a c\u00e9lula, pode ser classificada em dois grupos principais, as eucari\u00f3ticas, que possuem o material gen\u00e9tico envolto por uma membrana (que leva o nome de n\u00facleo) \u2013 dos quais fazemos parte \u2013 e os procariotos, que n\u00e3o possuem n\u00facleo e o material gen\u00e9tico fica disperso no citoplasma, como \u00e9 o caso das bact\u00e9rias.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Apesar da diferen\u00e7a quanto a presen\u00e7a de n\u00facleo, tanto as c\u00e9lulas eucari\u00f3ticas quanto as procari\u00f3ticas possuem membrana plasm\u00e1tica que separa o interior da c\u00e9lula do seu ambiente. Ele \u00e9 repleto de subst\u00e2ncias qu\u00edmicas e organelas. As organelas s\u00e3o estruturas celulares com fun\u00e7\u00f5es espec\u00edficas e separadas do citoplasma por meio de uma membrana.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">A maior organela da c\u00e9lula eucari\u00f3tica \u00e9 o n\u00facleo. Ele abriga o DNA (\u00e1cido desoxirribonucleico), que cont\u00e9m a informa\u00e7\u00e3o gen\u00e9tica para todas as fun\u00e7\u00f5es da c\u00e9lula\/organismo.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Mas infelizmente a informa\u00e7\u00e3o gen\u00e9tica n\u00e3o est\u00e1 escrita de maneira como lemos esse texto; seria muito texto para tantos comandos que nosso organismo executa! Ao inv\u00e9s disso, a informa\u00e7\u00e3o est\u00e1 codificada, ou escrita por meio de c\u00f3digos moleculares. A partir dessa \u00faltima mol\u00e9cula \u00e9 que ocorre a tradu\u00e7\u00e3o com a s\u00edntese de prote\u00ednas.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Ent\u00e3o, o DNA tem a informa\u00e7\u00e3o transmitida ao mRNA. A partir do mRNA \u00e9 que h\u00e1 a tradu\u00e7\u00e3o \u2013 daquela informa\u00e7\u00e3o codificada \u2013 em prote\u00ednas. Essa tradu\u00e7\u00e3o ocorre fora do n\u00facleo em uma outra organela da c\u00e9lula, no ribossomo.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">\n<h5 style=\"text-align: justify\">N\u00e3o \u00e9 sopa de letrinha<\/h5>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">A sequ\u00eancia desses bloquinhos de base nitrogenada no DNA n\u00e3o \u00e9 aleat\u00f3ria. A combina\u00e7\u00e3o de cada tr\u00eas bloquinhos \u00e9 traduzida pela c\u00e9lula em um amino\u00e1cido \u2013 a menor parte da estrutura de uma prote\u00edna. O conjunto de amino\u00e1cidos ligados \u00e9 que d\u00e1 origem a uma prote\u00edna. Quantidade e sequ\u00eancias diferentes de amino\u00e1cidos est\u00e3o associados a prote\u00ednas diferentes. E \u00e9 nelas que est\u00e1 a beleza da vida. Entre outras coisas, as prote\u00ednas fazem parte de estruturas das c\u00e9lulas, transportam o oxig\u00eanio necess\u00e1rio para a nossa respira\u00e7\u00e3o, conseguem deixar as rea\u00e7\u00f5es qu\u00edmicas mais r\u00e1pidas nos organismos. Desses 64 c\u00f3dons, 61 s\u00e3o traduzidos em amino\u00e1cidos e 3 est\u00e3o associados a uma esp\u00e9cie de sinaliza\u00e7\u00e3o para a parada de tradu\u00e7\u00e3o da sequ\u00eancia do DNA, os c\u00f3dons de Parada.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Mas alguns c\u00f3dons diferentes sinalizam para a produ\u00e7\u00e3o de um mesmo amino\u00e1cido. Os 61 c\u00f3dons produzem apenas 20 amino\u00e1cidos diferentes. Por esse motivo, o c\u00f3digo gen\u00e9tico \u00e9 considerado <em>redundante<\/em> ou <em>degenerado<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">A sequ\u00eancia de amino\u00e1cidos que comp\u00f5em uma determinada prote\u00edna \u00e9 codificada por um gene espec\u00edfico. A tradu\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e9 um processo de produ\u00e7\u00e3o de prote\u00ednas a partir do mRNA (RNA mensageiro). Ela acontece nos ribossomos, organelas presentes no citosol da c\u00e9lula. As c\u00e9lulas n\u00e3o conseguem produzir DNA a partir do RNA, mas alguns v\u00edrus possuem em sua maquin\u00e1ria uma enzima, um tipo de prote\u00edna, capaz de fazer esse processo, a transcriptase reversa.<\/p>\n<h5 style=\"text-align: justify\">Material gen\u00e9tico materno<\/h5>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Na reprodu\u00e7\u00e3o sexuada, a composi\u00e7\u00e3o do DNA presente no n\u00facleo das c\u00e9lulas eucari\u00f3ticas \u00e9 uma contribui\u00e7\u00e3o de 50% de cada um dos sexos.\u00a0Al\u00e9m disso, a c\u00e9lula eucari\u00f3tica abriga outra organela com material gen\u00e9tico pr\u00f3prio, a mitoc\u00f4ndria. Como regra, o material gen\u00e9tico presente na mitoc\u00f4ndria \u00e9 de origem apenas materna. Se compararmos com o DNA do n\u00facleo, a quantidade de informa\u00e7\u00e3o gen\u00e9tica presente na mitoc\u00f4ndria \u00e9 bem menor, mas ambas informa\u00e7\u00f5es s\u00e3o muito importantes.<\/p>\n<h5 style=\"text-align: justify\">Mas e os v\u00edrus?<\/h5>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Os v\u00edrus n\u00e3o t\u00eam a maquinaria para fazer c\u00f3pias de si mesmos, nem mesmo para a transcri\u00e7\u00e3o e tradu\u00e7\u00e3o em prote\u00ednas, mas cont\u00e9m a <text> informa\u00e7\u00e3o gen\u00e9tica<\/text> para a sua produ\u00e7\u00e3o.
