Bartlett apresenta uma palestra intitulada &#8220;Aritm\u00e9tica, popula\u00e7\u00e3o e energia&#8221;.<\/span><br \/>\nOs argumentos s\u00e3o fortes, Bartlett demonstra muitos erros cometidos por leigos e pela imprensa no que diz respeito ao entendimento do crescimento exponencial.<br \/>\nEntre os diversos exemplos de escassez de recursos e do perigo do crescimento, ele cita um cl\u00e1ssico Maltusiano. Com um crescimento de 1,3% ao ano, a popula\u00e7\u00e3o da Terra ter\u00e1 uma pessoa por metro quadrado de terra (seca) em apenas 780 anos. Nesse ritmo de crescimento em 2400 anos a humanidade ter\u00e1 a mesma massa da Terra!<br \/>\nO crescimento populacional ter\u00e1 que parar mais cedo ou mais tarde.
