Trabalhou por doze anos como professora prim\u00e1ria e assistente jur\u00eddica da Companhia Americana de Radiodifus\u00e3o (ABC), em Nova Iorque, antes de se dedicar ao doutorado em filosofia. Nesse per\u00edodo, em paralelo e por quest\u00f5es pessoais, Harding passou a ter uma maior proximidade com textos de filosofia, sobretudo de Wittgenstein e Quine, e, assim, redirecionou seu interesse de pesquisa para a filosofia da ci\u00eancia. Sobre isso Harding afirma, em entrevista a Gustavo Rocha e Luana da Silva Rocha, que havia se casado com um fil\u00f3sofo, e que copiava e digitava para ele sua tese sobre Wittgenstein, \u201ccomo as esposas faziam em 1958\u201d (Rocha et al., 2022, p.113).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Em 1973, defendeu seu doutorado em filosofia pela Universidade de Nova Iorque com uma tese dedicada \u00e0 epistemologia naturalizada do fil\u00f3sofo e l\u00f3gico norte-americano Willard van Orman Quine. Sua aproxima\u00e7\u00e3o com a perspectiva feminista se deu pelo prof\u00edcuo debate gerado a partir de sua atua\u00e7\u00e3o no movimento social de mulheres feministas acad\u00eamicas, sobretudo das ci\u00eancias sociais e da biologia, que, no in\u00edcio da d\u00e9cada de oitenta, questionavam o estatuto de neutralidade das ci\u00eancias pela categoria de g\u00eanero e pela baixa representatividade de mulheres em espa\u00e7os de produ\u00e7\u00e3o de conhecimento.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Em 1986 publicou o livro <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Science Question in Feminism<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> [A quest\u00e3o da ci\u00eancia no Feminismo] no qual elabora uma distin\u00e7\u00e3o poss\u00edvel, mas n\u00e3o \u00fanica, sobre tr\u00eas abordagens das epistemologias feministas, a saber, feminismo empirista, feminismo p\u00f3s-moderno e feminismo da perspectiva ou ponto de vista (<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">standpoint<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">). Harding defende e \u00e9 considerada uma das pioneiras na teoria da perspectiva feminista, ainda que j\u00e1 em sua obra de 1986 ela tenha defendido entrecruzamentos entre essas abordagens.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Vale notar que, apesar da tradu\u00e7\u00e3o frequente entre as pesquisadoras da<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> standpoint theory<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> ser Teoria do ponto de vista, optamos por teorias da perspectiva para seguir a publica\u00e7\u00e3o da <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Revista Em Constru\u00e7\u00e3o <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">(n.5 ano 2019) e para evitarmos o sentido empobrecedor que a express\u00e3o ligada \u00e0 ideia da vis\u00e3o de um lugar privilegiado carrega. Entendemos, assim, que esta teoria fala mais sobre posicionamento e atitude de representar o e intervir no mundo de maneira respons\u00e1vel, a partir de valores feministas, como a diversidade. Sandra Harding segue, mesmo ap\u00f3s sua aposentadoria, como refer\u00eancia fundamental para os estudos de ci\u00eancia e epistemologias feministas, sobretudo devido ao seu conceito de objetividade forte e suas cr\u00edticas p\u00f3s-coloniais.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Desde os anos oitenta, Harding atuou como professora em diferentes universidades, escreveu e organizou mais de uma dezena de obras em torno de temas sobre feminismos, p\u00f3s-colonialismo, ci\u00eancia e sociedade, e atuou como consultora de epistemologia e filosofia das ci\u00eancias em projetos para mulheres em diversos \u00f3rg\u00e3os da Organiza\u00e7\u00e3o das Na\u00e7\u00f5es Unidas (ONU). Desde 2014 \u00e9 Professora Em\u00e9rita da cadeira de Education and Women\u2019s Studies na Universidade da Calif\u00f3rnia em Los Angeles. Foi coeditora da revista <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Signs: Journal of Women in Culture and Society<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, entre 2000 e 2005. \u00c9, desde 2017, membra fundadora da Revista <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Tapuya: Latin American Science, Technology and Society<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, um projeto dedicado \u00e0<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">visibilidade da editora\u00e7\u00e3o e publica\u00e7\u00e3o latino-americana. Ganhou o pr\u00eamio John Desmond Bernal, da <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Society for the Social Studies of Science<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> (4S), em 2013; e o pr\u00eamio Jessie Bernard Award da American Sociological Association, em 1987, pela publica\u00e7\u00e3o de <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Science Question in Feminism<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> [A quest\u00e3o da ci\u00eancia no Feminismo] (1986). Al\u00e9m deste pr\u00eamio, esta obra lhe rendeu ainda a nomea\u00e7\u00e3o como um dos cinco melhores livros de 1986 pelo <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Los Angeles Times <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">e pela <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Socialist Review<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, e a colocou no radar dos cr\u00edticos da assim chamada guerra das ci\u00eancias.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Harding faleceu em 5 de mar\u00e7o de 2025, pouco antes de completar 90 anos. Ela deixou pronta para publica\u00e7\u00e3o a colet\u00e2nea <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Decentralizing Knowledges: essays on distributed agency<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> [Descentrar o Conhecimento: ensaios sobre ag\u00eancia distribu\u00edda], rec\u00e9m-lan\u00e7ada em colabora\u00e7\u00e3o com Leandro Rodr\u00edguez Medina.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Obra<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Sandra Harding possui uma obra extensa, mas ainda pouco lida no Brasil, sobretudo na filosofia, por n\u00e3o termos muitas tradu\u00e7\u00f5es de seus textos para o portugu\u00eas. Ao final deste verbete listamos suas obras completas, mas neste t\u00f3pico comentamos alguns de seus trabalhos a fim de lan\u00e7ar luz sobre os principais temas e conceitos desenvolvidos ao longo de sua trajet\u00f3ria acad\u00eamica. Ainda que a maior parte de sua obra se encontre sem tradu\u00e7\u00e3o, como \u00e9 o caso de sua primeira obra de destaque para a teoria da perspectiva <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Science Question in Feminism<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> [A quest\u00e3o da ci\u00eancia no Feminismo] (1986), encontramos alguns ensaios e cap\u00edtulos traduzidos e publicados em peri\u00f3dicos de acesso aberto.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Vale notar que a despeito de iniciar sua jornada na filosofia com uma tese sobre Pierre Duhem (1861-1916) e Willard Quine (1908-2000), Harding dedica sua carreira fundamentalmente \u00e0s epistemologias feministas, sobretudo \u00e0 teoria da perspectiva (<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">standpoint theory<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">), \u00e0 filosofia da ci\u00eancia feminista, ao p\u00f3s-colonialismo, ao multiculturalismo e aos conceitos de objetividade e diversidade. Outro ponto importante que podemos destacar de suas publica\u00e7\u00f5es \u00e9 que muitas se tratam de colet\u00e2neas, como \u00e9 o caso de \u201cDiscovering Reality: Feminist Perspectives on Epistemology, Metaphysics, Methodology and Philosophy of Science\u201d [Descobrindo a realidade: perspectivas feministas sobre epistemologia, metaf\u00edsica, metodologia e filosofia da ci\u00eancia], organizado junto a Merrill Hintikka (1939-1987), em 1983, e \u201cThe Feminist Standpoint Theory Reader: Intellectual and Political Controversies\u201d [Teoria da Perspectiva Feminista: Controv\u00e9rsias Intelectuais e Pol\u00edticas] (2004), com textos de autoras e autores de diferentes \u00e1reas da ci\u00eancia e lugares do globo, que denotam uma preocupa\u00e7\u00e3o constante de Harding de viabilizar uma vis\u00e3o plural das epistemologias feministas e suas quest\u00f5es. Sua \u00faltima obra editada <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Decentralizing knowledges: essays on distributed agency<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> [Descentrar o Conhecimento: ensaios sobre ag\u00eancia distribu\u00edda] (2025) resulta da colabora\u00e7\u00e3o editorial com Leandro Rodriguez Medina e conta com um texto introdut\u00f3rio, assinado por ambos, onde entendem esta descentraliza\u00e7\u00e3o como \u201cuma reconfigura\u00e7\u00e3o de ideias dominantes ou hegem\u00f4nicas \u00e0 luz de novas ideias que as desafiam e as corrigem, dando origem a um conhecimento objetivo forte\u201d (Medina e Harding, 2025, p.7).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Vale notar tamb\u00e9m que desde 1998, com a publica\u00e7\u00e3o de <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Is Science Multicultural? Postcolonialisms, Feminisms, and Epistemologies<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> [A ci\u00eancia \u00e9 multicultural? P\u00f3s-colonialismos, feminismos e epistemologias], Harding passa a trazer frequentemente os termos <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Multiculturalismo <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">e <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">P\u00f3s-colonialismo <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">para seus t\u00edtulos. Ainda que tais conceitos j\u00e1 se manifestassem em sua escrita e organiza\u00e7\u00e3o das obras da d\u00e9cada de oitenta, h\u00e1 um movimento da autora em situar, de in\u00edcio, seu trabalho em uma abordagem p\u00f3s-colonialista. Como vimos nas obras <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Science and Social Inequality: Feminist and Postcolonial Issues<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> [Ci\u00eancia e Desigualdade Social: Quest\u00f5es Feministas e P\u00f3s-coloniais], de 2006, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Sciences From Below: Feminisms, Postcolonialities and Modernities<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> [Ci\u00eancia a partir de baixo: Feminismos, P\u00f3s-colonialidades e Modernidades], de 2008, e <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Postcolonial Science and Technology Studies Reader<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> [Ci\u00eancia P\u00f3s-colonial e Estudos de Tecnologia], de 2011.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Sua \u00faltima obra autoral, &#8220;Objectivity<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> and Diversity: Another Logic of Scientific Research<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> [Objetividade e diversidade: Uma outra l\u00f3gica da pesquisa cient\u00edfica] (2015), \u00e9 relevante para a compreens\u00e3o de sua proposta de &#8220;objetividade forte&#8221;. Podemos encontrar uma vers\u00e3o em portugu\u00eas do segundo cap\u00edtulo desta obra na <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Revista Em Constru\u00e7\u00e3o: arquivos de epistemologia hist\u00f3rica e estudos de ci\u00eancia<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. Nesta vers\u00e3o, al\u00e9m da autora disponibilizar o manuscrito do cap\u00edtulo, ela acrescenta um coment\u00e1rio \u00e0 edi\u00e7\u00e3o brasileira em que aborda a cria\u00e7\u00e3o do projeto editorial <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Tapuya: Latin American Science, Technology and Society<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, que publica contribui\u00e7\u00f5es originais n\u00e3o apenas para o pensamento latino-americano, mas tamb\u00e9m, com a mesma import\u00e2ncia, para os estudos internacionais de ci\u00eancia e tecnologia (Harding, 2019, p.161). Nessa vers\u00e3o, Harding ainda explicita uma das mudan\u00e7as significativas em sua trajet\u00f3ria na constru\u00e7\u00e3o da teoria da perspectiva (<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">standpoint theory<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">):\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Em ensaios anteriores eu usei a express\u00e3o \u201cprivil\u00e9gios epist\u00eamicos\u201d para descrever o que est\u00e1 em jogo na teoria da perspectiva. Eu\u00a0 tinha\u00a0 em\u00a0 mente\u00a0 a\u00a0 falta\u00a0 de\u00a0 credibilidade,\u00a0 constantemente\u00a0 denunciada,\u00a0 atribu\u00edda\u00a0 \u00e0s\u00a0 falas\u00a0 de\u00a0 mulheres\u00a0 em\u00a0 den\u00fancias\u00a0 de\u00a0 estupro\u00a0 e\u00a0 viol\u00eancia\u00a0 dom\u00e9sticas\u00a0 sofridas,\u00a0 das\u00a0 experi\u00eancias\u00a0 sobre\u00a0 seus\u00a0 corpos\u00a0 compartilhadas\u00a0 com\u00a0 profissionais\u00a0 da\u00a0 sa\u00fade,\u00a0 dos\u00a0 ass\u00e9dios\u00a0 e\u00a0 de\u00a0 outros\u00a0 tratamentos\u00a0 desiguais\u00a0 vividos\u00a0 em\u00a0 seus\u00a0 postos\u00a0 de\u00a0 trabalho\u00a0 etc.\u00a0 Contudo,\u00a0 esse\u00a0 termo\u00a0 levou\u00a0 a\u00a0 m\u00e1\u00a0 compreens\u00e3o por parte de alguns leitores que assumiram que eu estava defendendo que tais relatos eram incorrig\u00edveis e isso apesar de minha observa\u00e7\u00e3o sobre como n\u00f3s frequentemente revisamos nossos relatos de experi\u00eancia a partir das observa\u00e7\u00f5es de terapeutas, historiadores etc; eles s\u00e3o sempre corrig\u00edveis. Posteriormente, abandonei o uso desse termo. <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">(Harding, 20219, p.154)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Para al\u00e9m dos livros, ainda n\u00e3o traduzidos integralmente, contamos com uma entrevista publicada sob o t\u00edtulo \u201cEntre estudos p\u00f3s-coloniais, feminismo e estudos de ci\u00eancias: uma entrevista com Sandra Harding\u201d, pela <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Revista Brasileira de Hist\u00f3ria da Ci\u00eancia<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, em 2021,<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">em que nos \u00e9 oportunizado conhecer um pouco mais sobre sua entrada na filosofia, motiva\u00e7\u00f5es pessoais e pol\u00edticas, e sua rela\u00e7\u00e3o bifurcada entre estudos feministas e os estudos de ci\u00eancia (<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">science studies<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Outro texto exemplar de sua trajet\u00f3ria, e talvez o primeiro a que tivemos acesso em portugu\u00eas, \u00e9 o \u201cA instabilidade das categorias anal\u00edticas na teoria feminista\u201d publicado pela<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Revista Estudos Feministas<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">,<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">em 1993, traduzido do original The Instability of the Analytical Categories of Feminist Theory publicado na <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Signs, Journal of Women in Culture and Society<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, em 1986; e reeditado na cole\u00e7\u00e3o <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Pensamento Feminista: conceitos fundamentais<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, publicado em 2019 pela Bazar do Tempo<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Nesse texto, ela apresenta uma an\u00e1lise importante sobre g\u00eanero enquanto categoria de an\u00e1lise feminista inst\u00e1vel e defende essa instabilidade como uma garantia de objetividade para a epistemologia. Em suas palavras: \u201cAs categorias anal\u00edticas feministas devem ser inst\u00e1veis \u2014 teorias coerentes e consistentes em um mundo inst\u00e1vel e incoerente s\u00e3o obst\u00e1culos tanto ao conhecimento quanto \u00e0s pr\u00e1ticas sociais\u201d (Harding, 1993, p. 11). Este texto resulta da reflex\u00e3o sobre cr\u00edticas e controv\u00e9rsias repercutidas de pesquisadores e pesquisadoras de diferentes \u00e1reas e inclusive das epistemologias feministas.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Tamb\u00e9m em portugu\u00eas temos ainda acesso aos ensaios \u201cG\u00eanero, democracia e filosofia da ci\u00eancia\u201d, publicado pela <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Revista Eletr\u00f4nica De Comunica\u00e7\u00e3o, Informa\u00e7\u00e3o &amp; Inova\u00e7\u00e3o Em Sa\u00fade<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, em 2007; e \u201cCi\u00eancia e tecnologia no mundo p\u00f3s-colonial e multicultural: Quest\u00f5es de g\u00eanero\u201d, publicado pela <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Revista labrys estudos feministas<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, em 2003, em que temas como pol\u00edtica, multiculturalismo e p\u00f3s-colonialismo s\u00e3o destacados por Harding.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Temas e conceitos<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>1. Situando Harding e a atualidade da teoria da perspectiva feminista (<\/b><b><i>Standpoint Theory)\u00a0<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Aqui apresentaremos a teoria da perspectiva feminista, por vezes tamb\u00e9m chamada de teoria do ponto de vista feminista, enquanto uma posi\u00e7\u00e3o intelectual originada no debate entre pesquisadoras, sobretudo, estadunidenses (mas n\u00e3o apenas) nas d\u00e9cadas de 1970 e 1980, para as quais quest\u00f5es de g\u00eanero, sexualidade, ra\u00e7a e etnia deveriam ser consideradas pelas an\u00e1lises e teorias sobre ci\u00eancia e sociedade. Isto se deu, devido \u00e0s suas posi\u00e7\u00f5es acad\u00eamicas em diferentes \u00e1reas, com a percep\u00e7\u00e3o da invisibilidade de mulheres e outros grupos historicamente dominados nas universidades, seja nas bibliografias, nos curr\u00edculos, seja nas carreiras universit\u00e1rias. Para Sandra Harding, a teoria da perspectiva feminista surgiu nas d\u00e9cadas de 1970 e 1980 como uma teoria cr\u00edtica feminista sobre as rela\u00e7\u00f5es entre a produ\u00e7\u00e3o de conhecimento e as pr\u00e1ticas de poder (Harding, 2004).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">As primeiras abordagens partiam do l\u00e9xico marxista para desenvolver seu campo pr\u00f3prio:<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cA sexualidade \u00e9 para o feminismo o que o trabalho \u00e9 para o marxismo: aquilo que \u00e9 mais pr\u00f3prio de algu\u00e9m, por\u00e9m, aquilo que mais lhe \u00e9 retirado [alienado]\u201d (Mackinnon, 2016 [1982], p.801). A forma\u00e7\u00e3o marxista oportunizou para a teoria da perspectiva feminista um modelo de leitura de uma opress\u00e3o localizada, nesse caso, tanto do sistema capitalista quanto do patriarcado que lhe servia de base no mundo ocidental. A perspectiva, ou ponto de vista, feminista \u00e9 assim explicada por Miranda Fricker:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Em primeiro lugar, n\u00e3o \u00e9 em si um posicionamento social, como a posi\u00e7\u00e3o do proletariado sob o capitalismo ou a posi\u00e7\u00e3o das mulheres sob o patriarcado. Em vez disso, um ponto de vista \u00e9 algo que \u00e9 disponibilizado a partir do posicionamento social relevante. Em segundo lugar, n\u00e3o \u00e9 em si uma vis\u00e3o do mundo, nem qualquer propriedade de uma vis\u00e3o, como a perspectiva em que est\u00e1 ou o vi\u00e9s ou interesse que exibe. Em vez disso, um ponto de vista \u00e9 uma orienta\u00e7\u00e3o epist\u00eamica, por assim dizer \u2014 que adquire uma vis\u00e3o (com uma perspectiva particular etc.) do mundo social. Um ponto de vista \u00e9 a contrapartida epist\u00eamica de uma forma particular de &#8220;engajamento&#8221; com o mundo. O ponto de vista do proletariado \u00e9 a contrapartida epist\u00eamica do trabalho assalariado prolet\u00e1rio, e o ponto de vista feminista \u00e9 a contrapartida do trabalho feminino (assalariado ou n\u00e3o).<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> (Fricker,1999, p.194)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">H\u00e1 nas obras e nas colet\u00e2neas organizadas por Harding a preocupa\u00e7\u00e3o de promover uma esp\u00e9cie de genealogia da teoria da perspectiva, desde autoras como Nancy Hartsock (1983), Dorothy Smith (1974), Hilary Rose (1983), Jane Flax (1983) Catharine Mackinnon (1982), Alison Jaggar (1989). Sob o olhar de Harding, como publicado no artigo \u201cA Socially Relevant Philosophy of Science? Resources from Standpoint Theory&#8217;s Controversiality\u201d [Uma Filosofia da Ci\u00eancia Socialmente Relevante? Recursos da controv\u00e9rsia da teoria da perspectiva] (2009)<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">,<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> a teoria da perspectiva feminista \u00e9 uma esp\u00e9cie de metodologia de pesquisa diferenciada da tradi\u00e7\u00e3o. Apesar de suas origens se encontrarem em teorias marxistas e p\u00f3s-marxistas, as teorias da perspectiva feminista n\u00e3o se reduzem a elas ao incluir categorias anal\u00edticas para al\u00e9m do g\u00eanero entre suas an\u00e1lises.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Trata-se, para Harding, de um outro tipo org\u00e2nico de l\u00f3gica de pesquisa porque a l\u00f3gica da perspectiva feminista se adapta \u00e0 diversidade, isto \u00e9, aos diferentes grupos sociais antes invisibilizados que se inserem nas ci\u00eancias, seja como problemas seja como sujeitos de conhecimento. Por isso, ela pode ser pensada de maneiras diversas: Como uma epistemologia, por analisar e sancionar quem pode produzir conhecimento confi\u00e1vel e como este conhecimento deve ser justificado. Como uma filosofia da ci\u00eancia, por determinar quais e como devem ser as melhores pr\u00e1ticas e metas para a pesquisa cient\u00edfica. E ainda como uma sociologia da ci\u00eancia, porque analisa as condi\u00e7\u00f5es sociais localizadas que permitem diferentes tipos de conhecimento. Para Harding:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">A teoria da perspectiva (standpoint theory) defende que os pesquisadores que buscam as perspectivas econ\u00f4micas, pol\u00edticas e sociais dos grupos vulner\u00e1veis que n\u00e3o criaram, nem gerenciam as institui\u00e7\u00f5es dominantes, suas culturas ou suas pr\u00e1ticas, podem ganhar recursos importantes para novas quest\u00f5es das pesquisas, e novas informa\u00e7\u00f5es e vis\u00f5es que aumentam o escopo e a confiabilidade dos resultados das pesquisas. <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">(Harding, 2019, p.154)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Harding (2015) e outras feministas da teoria do ponto de vista, que seguem no seu desenvolvimento, entendem que a quest\u00e3o da situacionalidade (ou localiza\u00e7\u00e3o) n\u00e3o deve ser resumida \u00e0 quantifica\u00e7\u00e3o da opress\u00e3o de g\u00eanero, mas encontra nela um motor e um desafio, qual seja, o de escapar ao universalismo e ao imperialismo do projeto moderno de racionalidade (Harding, 1986; Bairros,1975).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Harding, como podemos notar em sua produ\u00e7\u00e3o acad\u00eamica, nunca abandonou a teoria e metodologia da perspectiva feminista e seguiu na tentativa de atualiz\u00e1-la para compreender desafios contempor\u00e2neos como o da p\u00f3s-colonialidade. Em uma organiza\u00e7\u00e3o sua de 2004, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Feminist Standpoint Theory Reader <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0[Uma leitura da Teoria da Perspectiva ou Ponto de vista], Harding re\u00fane textos de Dorothy Smith, Nancy Hartsock, Alison Jaggar, Hilary Rose, Donna Haraway, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.blogs.unicamp.br\/mulheresnafilosofia\/patricia-hill-collins\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Patricia Hill Collins<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, Fredric Jameson, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.blogs.unicamp.br\/mulheresnafilosofia\/bell-hooks\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">bell hooks<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, Sara Ruddick, Catharine Mackinnon, Kathi Weeks, Chela Sandoval, Uma Naraya, Susan Hekman, Dick Pels, Fernando Garc\u00eda Selgas, Sarah Bracke, Maria Puig de la Bellacasa, Nancy Hirschmann, Maria Mies, Vandana Shiva, Alison Wylie e Joseph Rouse, que exploram n\u00e3o apenas quest\u00f5es caras \u00e0 teoria da perspectiva, como as do colonialismo e o multiculturalismo, como tamb\u00e9m os temas da maternidade (Ruddick), da viol\u00eancia contra a mulher (Mackinnon) e da marginalidade (hooks), por exemplo.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Para Harding, essa reuni\u00e3o de pensadoras da perspectiva de diferentes localiza\u00e7\u00f5es e que abordam problemas e conceitos distintos nos permite perceber a atualidade de uma teoria tanto explicativa quanto propositiva, e que, para ela, pode ainda ser definida como uma outra l\u00f3gica de pesquisa em sentido amplo. Sua abordagem privilegia m\u00e9todos caracter\u00edsticos das ci\u00eancias sociais, como uma esp\u00e9cie de padr\u00e3o ouro para a objetividade das ci\u00eancias, em oposi\u00e7\u00e3o ao progresso da f\u00edsica como sin\u00f4nimo de sucesso promovido pelo c\u00e2none da hist\u00f3ria e da filosofia da ci\u00eancia at\u00e9 o s\u00e9culo XX.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Isso a aproxima da chamada Nova Filosofia da Ci\u00eancia, representada por pensadores como Thomas Kuhn (em A Estrutura das Revolu\u00e7\u00f5es Cient\u00edficas, 1962) e Paul Feyerabend (em Contra o M\u00e9todo, 1975). Ambos criticaram certas no\u00e7\u00f5es tradicionais da ci\u00eancia: Kuhn questionou a rela\u00e7\u00e3o entre progresso e revolu\u00e7\u00f5es cient\u00edficas, enquanto Feyerabend contestou a ideia de um m\u00e9todo \u00fanico para definir o que \u00e9 cient\u00edfico. Sandra Harding argumenta que as cr\u00edticas dirigidas \u00e0 teoria da perspectiva (standpoint theory) surgem de uma dificuldade em aceitar o conceito de conhecimento situado \u2013 ou seja, a ideia de que todo conhecimento \u00e9 influenciado por seu contexto social, n\u00e3o apenas o produzido por grupos marginalizados. Para ela, essa teoria (assim como abordagens p\u00f3s-modernas e p\u00f3s-coloniais) pode parecer relativista, mas na verdade vai al\u00e9m: alguns valores sociais, longe de prejudicar a ci\u00eancia, podem enriquec\u00ea-la ao incorporar perspectivas diversificadas (Harding, 2004, p. 11).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>2. Epistemologia feminista, multiculturalismo e p\u00f3s-colonialismo<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Epistemologia, ou teoria do conhecimento, \u00e9 o estudo do conhecimento que se faz, tradicionalmente, a partir das seguintes quest\u00f5es: O que \u00e9 conhecimento? O que podemos conhecer? Como conhecemos o que conhecemos? (Greco, 2012, p.16). As epistemologias cr\u00edticas, sociais e feministas, por exemplo, se interrogam, ainda, sobre \u201cpara qu\u00ea\u201d e \u201cpor quem\u201d o conhecimento se fez\/faz. Nesse sentido, como nos lembra Patricia Hill Collins (2019, p.403), a epistemologia \u00e9 importante por determinar quais quest\u00f5es merecem investiga\u00e7\u00e3o, quais referenciais interpretativos ser\u00e3o usados para analisar as descobertas e a finalidade \u00e0 qual se destina o conhecimento decorrente desse processo. Harding assim explica o que aqui chamamos por epistemologia da tradi\u00e7\u00e3o:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Uma suposi\u00e7\u00e3o central dessa antiga teoria do conhecimento cient\u00edfico \u00e9 que o sucesso da ci\u00eancia moderna \u00e9 garantido por suas caracter\u00edsticas internas \u2014 m\u00e9todo experimental ou m\u00e9todo cient\u00edfico de forma mais geral, os padr\u00f5es da ci\u00eancia para maximizar a objetividade e a racionalidade, o uso da matem\u00e1tica para expressar as leis da natureza, a distin\u00e7\u00e3o entre qualidades prim\u00e1rias e secund\u00e1rias na natureza, dentre outras. A ci\u00eancia \u00e9 singular \u2014 h\u00e1 uma e somente uma ci\u00eancia \u2014 e seus componentes s\u00e3o harmoniosamente integrados por tais caracter\u00edsticas internas. <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">(Harding, 1998, p.2. tradu\u00e7\u00e3o nossa)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">O ideal de unifica\u00e7\u00e3o cient\u00edfica defendido, inclusive, pelo Manifesto do Positivismo L\u00f3gico (A concep\u00e7\u00e3o cient\u00edfica do mundo &#8211; O C\u00edrculo de Viena, 1929) afirma a possibilidade de alcan\u00e7ar e estabelecer, por meio da an\u00e1lise l\u00f3gica da linguagem, par\u00e2metros \u00fanicos para todas as \u00e1reas do conhecimento. As epistemologias cr\u00edticas se colocam sobretudo contra este ideal ao expor os problemas inerentes a esta tese. Harding, por exemplo, exp\u00f5e a impossibilidade deste ideal frente ao pluralismo caracter\u00edstico da atividade cient\u00edfica e ao multiculturalismo frequentemente negado por essa perspectiva.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Em sua obra <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Is Science Multicultural? Postcolonialisms, Feminisms, and Epistemologies<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> [A ci\u00eancia \u00e9 multicultural? P\u00f3s-colonialismos, feminismos e epistemologias] (1998), Harding assim analisa este ideal:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">No final do s\u00e9culo XIX e in\u00edcio do s\u00e9culo XX, os defensores do ideal da universalidade esperavam que ele pudesse servir como um poderoso ant\u00eddoto \u00e0s mar\u00e9s de conflitos partid\u00e1rios racialistas e nacionalistas que repetidamente resultaram em viol\u00eancia e at\u00e9 mesmo genoc\u00eddio. Para eles, a aprecia\u00e7\u00e3o da universalidade da ci\u00eancia e seus padr\u00f5es de racionalidade e objetividade s\u00f3 poderiam apoiar e avan\u00e7ar as rela\u00e7\u00f5es sociais democr\u00e1ticas. Hoje, os defensores do ideal da universalidade veem nos padr\u00f5es \u00fanicos de racionalidade e objetividade cient\u00edfica a principal esperan\u00e7a para restaurar o que eles consideram como as rela\u00e7\u00f5es sociais justas e ordenadas que agora est\u00e3o sendo interrompidas pelas reivindica\u00e7\u00f5es e demandas do multiculturalismo, feminismo e &#8220;relativismo&#8221; nos estudos sociais p\u00f3s-kuhnianos da ci\u00eancia. (&#8230;) Para muitas te\u00f3ricas feministas, multiculturalistas e p\u00f3s-kuhnianos dos estudos de ci\u00eancia [science studies], no entanto, o ideal de universalidade aparece cada vez mais como uma for\u00e7a para manter a desigualdade e obstruir tend\u00eancias democr\u00e1ticas, e para obstruir o crescimento do conhecimento. Para esses grupos, as reivindica\u00e7\u00f5es da verdade transcultural das representa\u00e7\u00f5es da natureza das ci\u00eancias modernas, e apenas daquelas da ci\u00eancia moderna, funcionam para mascarar as maneiras pelas quais as ci\u00eancias modernas e suas representa\u00e7\u00f5es da ordem da natureza tendem a distribuir os benef\u00edcios cognitivos e sociais das mudan\u00e7as cient\u00edficas e tecnol\u00f3gicas desproporcionalmente para aqueles j\u00e1 posicionados para tirar vantagem delas, e os custos principalmente para aqueles menos capazes de resistir a elas. Al\u00e9m disso, as reivindica\u00e7\u00f5es de universalidade legitimam a desvaloriza\u00e7\u00e3o e at\u00e9 mesmo a destrui\u00e7\u00e3o das tradi\u00e7\u00f5es de conhecimento que permitiram que mulheres, os pobres e as culturas menos poderosas interagissem efetivamente com seus ambientes. As alega\u00e7\u00f5es de universalidade \u00fanica tamb\u00e9m t\u00eam efeitos epistemol\u00f3gicos e cient\u00edficos ruins, al\u00e9m de suas consequ\u00eancias pol\u00edticas. De v\u00e1rias maneiras, elas funcionam para aumentar a produ\u00e7\u00e3o de ignor\u00e2ncia sistem\u00e1tica. Dessa perspectiva, as alega\u00e7\u00f5es de universalidade s\u00e3o epistemologicamente, cientificamente e politicamente disfuncionais. <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">(Harding, 1998, p.168-169. tradu\u00e7\u00e3o nossa)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Mas o que destacam as epistemologias feministas ou, ainda, qual seria a sua rela\u00e7\u00e3o com as epistemologias cr\u00edticas da tradi\u00e7\u00e3o, como a epistemologia social? Patr\u00edcia Ketzer defende que a \u201cEpistemologia Feminista est\u00e1 preocupada em investigar o papel do g\u00eanero nas diversas atividades epist\u00eamicas\u201d (Ketzer, 2021). Elizabeth Anderson destaca tamb\u00e9m que para a epistemologia feminista \u201ca<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> localiza\u00e7\u00e3o social <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">do sujeito do conhecimento afeta o que e como ele sabe. \u00c9, portanto, um ramo da epistemologia social\u201d (Anderson, 2020). Linda Alcoff e Elizabeth Potter (1993) assim refletem sobre este pluralismo inerente \u00e0s epistemologias feministas:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Nosso t\u00edtulo, Epistemologias Feministas, deve alertar os leitores de que este novo programa de pesquisa \u00e9 internamente heterog\u00eaneo e irredut\u00edvel a qualquer conjunto uniforme de teses. Os feminismos que comp\u00f5em essa nova problem\u00e1tica s\u00e3o diversos, muitas vezes tendo em comum apenas o compromisso de desenterrar da epistemologia a pol\u00edtica. <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">(Alcoff e Potter, 1993, p.3. tradu\u00e7\u00e3o nossa)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Vale ainda ressaltar que o ponto que conecta a pluralidade de epistemologias feministas \u00e9 a tend\u00eancia em enfatizar a particularidade e a concretude de sujeitos epist\u00eamicos em detrimento de valores universais e abstratos (Janack, 2020, p.606), isto \u00e9, seu car\u00e1ter situado e parcial (Soares, 2021). Este enfoque, que na epistemologia da perspectiva (<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">standpoint<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">) \u00e9 nomeado por conhecimento localizado e corporificado, explica porque Helen Longino apresenta a epistemologia feminista tanto como um paradoxo como uma necessidade (Longino, 2012, p.505). Afinal, a defini\u00e7\u00e3o e import\u00e2ncia da epistemologia da tradi\u00e7\u00e3o se refere \u00e0 explica\u00e7\u00e3o e, ao mesmo tempo, a reifica\u00e7\u00e3o de\/sobre o conhecimento, o que carrega em si uma pretensa universalidade. O paradoxo das epistemologias feministas se explica, portanto, por sua \u00eanfase na impossibilidade de produzirmos teoria sobre o conhecimento, e mesmo conhecimento em si, sem que seja situado e, por isso, parcial (Harding,1993 e Haraway, 2009). Longino entende que este car\u00e1ter paradoxal das epistemologias feministas \u00e9 justo o que as torna necess\u00e1rias. Afinal, trata-se de uma cr\u00edtica que visa a uma reformula\u00e7\u00e3o na base do que entendemos por epistemologia.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Para Harding (1998) esta reformula\u00e7\u00e3o nasce frente \u00e0s exig\u00eancias de um mundo multicultural e p\u00f3s-colonial. Ela acredita e se interessa, ao longo de toda a sua obra, mas sobretudo a partir dos anos 1990 \u2014 quando passa a circular em universidades fora do eixo Estados Unidos e Uni\u00e3o Europeia, como Costa Rica, Nicar\u00e1gua, Honduras e Guatemala, com cursos e palestras patrocinadas pelo projeto &#8220;Mulheres, Sa\u00fade e Desenvolvimento&#8221; da Organiza\u00e7\u00e3o Pan-Americana da Sa\u00fade das Na\u00e7\u00f5es Unidas e pela Universidade da Costa Rica \u2014, pelo mapeamento de quest\u00f5es, problemas e sujeitos at\u00e9 ent\u00e3o ignorados da produ\u00e7\u00e3o de conhecimento, inclusive pela epistemologia cr\u00edtica. Harding cita (1998) a Rio 92 e o Quincenten\u00e1rio Colombiano como marcos importantes para o conhecimento de outras vozes e relatos sobre ci\u00eancia em um mundo multicultural e p\u00f3s-colonial e reflete sobre algumas origens das epistemologias cr\u00edticas p\u00f3s-coloniais:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Aparentemente, as primeiras pistas para a possibilidade de relatos p\u00f3s-coloniais das rela\u00e7\u00f5es de depend\u00eancia entre o surgimento das ci\u00eancias e tecnologias modernas na Europa e a expans\u00e3o europeia come\u00e7aram a aparecer h\u00e1 mais de cinquenta anos. Um historiador das \u00cdndias Ocidentais analisou como os imensos lucros das planta\u00e7\u00f5es caribenhas desempenharam um papel t\u00e3o grande em tornar poss\u00edvel a industrializa\u00e7\u00e3o na Europa. E um historiador indiano come\u00e7ou a examinar como os brit\u00e2nicos destru\u00edram intencionalmente a ind\u00fastria t\u00eaxtil indiana para criar um mercado para a importa\u00e7\u00e3o de t\u00eaxteis brit\u00e2nicos. Como o conhecimento cient\u00edfico e tecnol\u00f3gico, na Europa e nos alvos ultramarinos do controle imperial da Europa, eram centrais para ambos os momentos hist\u00f3ricos (como veremos nos cap\u00edtulos seguintes), come\u00e7ou a parecer que o crescimento cient\u00edfico e tecnol\u00f3gico na Europa foi avan\u00e7ado por meio de tais processos na expans\u00e3o europeia. Al\u00e9m disso, tal expans\u00e3o, por sua vez, pareceu ser avan\u00e7ada pelo desenvolvimento das ci\u00eancias modernas na Europa e pelo decl\u00ednio das \u201ctradi\u00e7\u00f5es de conhecimento local\u201d no Caribe e na \u00cdndia. Essas prefigura\u00e7\u00f5es da teoria dos sistemas mundiais posteriormente desenvolvida continham alega\u00e7\u00f5es importantes sobre como a expans\u00e3o europeia e o crescimento das ci\u00eancias e tecnologias modernas na Europa estavam causalmente ligados. Nas d\u00e9cadas de 1950 e 1960, surgiram na Europa, na Austr\u00e1lia e em outras partes do mundo desafios ao modelo difusionista predominante de crescimento cient\u00edfico e tecnol\u00f3gico e \u00e0 presumida irrelev\u00e2ncia do imperialismo europeu para tais processos. <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">(Harding, 1998, p.5-6. tradu\u00e7\u00e3o nossa)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00c9 fundamental ter relatos e publica\u00e7\u00f5es como esse e outros de Harding que visam n\u00e3o se colocar em um lugar de pioneirismo sobre quest\u00f5es caras \u00e0 pesquisadoras e pesquisadores do sul global, que h\u00e1 muito j\u00e1 publicavam suas teses sobre os temas por ela tamb\u00e9m trabalhados (Mendon\u00e7a, 2008; Queijo Olano, 2021). No Brasil, no mesmo per\u00edodo da Guerra Fria (1947-1991), fil\u00f3sofas e fil\u00f3sofos, educadores e cientistas de diversas \u00e1reas produziram conhecimento e enfrentaram quest\u00f5es caracter\u00edsticas de um pa\u00eds que, ap\u00f3s todos os traumas da coloniza\u00e7\u00e3o, ainda viveria por mais de trinta anos sob um regime ditatorial. Entre 1964 e 1985, a ditadura militar controlava, por censura, ex\u00edlio e asfixia, institui\u00e7\u00f5es de pesquisa, movimentos sociais, estudantes, artistas e cientistas, como foi o caso do Centro Brasileiro de Pesquisas F\u00edsicas, no Rio de Janeiro, fundado em 1949 por f\u00edsicos movidos por um \u201cnacionalismo cient\u00edfico\u201d (Tavares e Videira, 2020), como Jos\u00e9 Leite Lopes (1918-2006), Cesar Lattes (1924-2005), Jayme Tiomno (1920-2011) e Elisa Frota-Pessoa (1921-2018), e que quase se extingue neste per\u00edodo. Al\u00e9m deles, os trabalhos de Paulo Freire (1921-1997), <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.blogs.unicamp.br\/mulheresnafilosofia\/lelia-gonzalez\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">L\u00e9lia Gonzalez<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> (1935-1994) e Milton Santos (1926-2001), nas ci\u00eancias humanas, j\u00e1 eram inclusive citados e reconhecidos como pares no norte global, entre os anos 1960-1980. Ainda que Harding n\u00e3o tenha referenciado tais importantes fontes, ela observa:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">An\u00e1lises p\u00f3s-coloniais importantes foram produzidas por cidad\u00e3os eg\u00edpcios, ingleses, afro-caribenhos, paquistaneses, brasileiros, franceses, americanos e cingaleses, entre outros, de muitas &#8220;ra\u00e7as&#8221;, etnias e l\u00ednguas maternas. Relatos feministas importantes foram produzidos por homens! Assim, tais pontos de vista s\u00e3o posi\u00e7\u00f5es discursivas constru\u00eddas cr\u00edtica e teoricamente, n\u00e3o meramente perspectivas ou vis\u00f5es que fluem de seus autores involuntariamente por causa de sua biologia ou localiza\u00e7\u00e3o em rela\u00e7\u00f5es geogr\u00e1ficas ou outras rela\u00e7\u00f5es sociais.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Este estudo \u00e9 apenas um ponto de vista, n\u00e3o o ponto de vista p\u00f3s-colonial e\/ou feminista. O ponto de vista deste livro \u00e9 historicamente localiz\u00e1vel exatamente da mesma forma que as hist\u00f3rias culturais, suas pr\u00e1ticas e significados, que ele examina (&#8230;)<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> (Harding, 1998, p.17)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>3. Objetividade forte: valores, diversidade e ci\u00eancias respons\u00e1veis<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">A diversidade ocupa um espa\u00e7o central na epistemologia feminista de Harding. Com isso, ela procura reconhecer a diversidade como um valor importante para a maximiza\u00e7\u00e3o da objetividade. Essa diversidade, enquanto valor, deve ser pensada de forma cr\u00edtica, uma vez que sujeitos, hip\u00f3teses, teorias e m\u00e9todos devem contribuir para uma produ\u00e7\u00e3o cient\u00edfica respons\u00e1vel e de acordo com valores feministas. Nesse sentido, os valores de pol\u00edticas e sujeitos historicamente dominantes<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">,<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> constituem um importante obst\u00e1culo epistemol\u00f3gico a ser superado tendo em vista uma ci\u00eancia respons\u00e1vel. Harding defende a combina\u00e7\u00e3o de a\u00e7\u00f5es afirmativas e a forma\u00e7\u00e3o de comunidades alternativas de pesquisas como uma forma de superar as desigualdades promovidas pela objetividade fraca.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">A cr\u00edtica de Harding \u00e0 objetividade parte do reconhecimento do seu car\u00e1ter plural e hist\u00f3rico em oposi\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e0 ideia de objetividade como sin\u00f4nimo de neutralidade. Para isso, ela tamb\u00e9m retoma os trabalhos de Robert Proctor (Proctor, 1991), que analisou o uso da objetividade como um ideal de neutralidade para permitir ou dificultar abordagens democr\u00e1ticas na pesquisa (Harding, 2019, p.147), e de Lorraine Daston e Peter Galison (2007), que analisam o desenvolvimento hist\u00f3rico das diferentes formas de objetividade.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">N\u00e3o h\u00e1, na perspectiva de Harding, uma defesa de uma \u201cci\u00eancia melhor pelo feminismo\u201d ou qualquer ideal de perfectibilidade e constru\u00e7\u00e3o de uma ci\u00eancia nova e \u00fanica. Sua proposta de \u201cobjetividade forte\u201d defende o reconhecimento da ci\u00eancia como uma atividade social fortalecida por perspectivas at\u00e9 ent\u00e3o ignoradas ou destitu\u00eddas de autoridade epist\u00eamica e que, enquanto metodologia, ambiciona uma abertura para uma \u201coutra l\u00f3gica de pesquisa\u201d, e n\u00e3o a unifica\u00e7\u00e3o da ci\u00eancia ou da pesquisa como um todo. Em suas palavras: \u201cUma pesquisa objetiva precisa ser justa com as evid\u00eancias, justa com as obje\u00e7\u00f5es a ela e justa em rela\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e0 mais severa cr\u00edtica que se possa imaginar, mesmo que ainda nem tenha sido formulada. Esse \u00e9 evidentemente o n\u00facleo da ideia convencional de pesquisa objetiva\u201d (Harding, 2019, p.148).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Assim, a \u201cobjetividade forte\u201d rejeita o ideal de neutralidade de valores (<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">value-free<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">), sem renunciar \u00e0 fidelidade aos compromissos centrais da vis\u00e3o padr\u00e3o de fazer ci\u00eancia. Ou seja, ela entende que a objetividade das metodologias de pesquisa deve tamb\u00e9m denotar a rela\u00e7\u00e3o entre valores epist\u00eamicos e pol\u00edticos (idem). Para isso, ela se baseia \u201cna premissa de que os compromissos sociopol\u00edticos favor\u00e1veis \u00e0 diversidade e os compromissos epist\u00eamico-cient\u00edficos com a objetividade n\u00e3o precisam ser necessariamente conflitantes\u201d (Aymor\u00e9, 2017,p. 175).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Ao inv\u00e9s de afirmar que valores e pol\u00edtica sempre comprometem a pesquisa cient\u00edfica, te\u00f3ricas feministas como Nelson, Longino e Harding argumentam que tais valores sempre operam em avalia\u00e7\u00f5es de evid\u00eancia, justifica\u00e7\u00e3o e constru\u00e7\u00e3o de teorias, e que tentar desenvolver uma epistemologia para a ci\u00eancia que a faria menos propensa ao vi\u00e9s de g\u00eanero requer o conhecimento dos modos nos quais os valores entram no processo de racioc\u00ednio cient\u00edfico. <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">(Janack, 2020, p.611)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">A objetividade forte prop\u00f5e, com isso, um come\u00e7ar \u201ca partir de baixo\u201d como um contraponto ao projeto hegem\u00f4nico de uma ci\u00eancia marcada pelos objetivos do neoliberalismo. Essa perspectiva entende que pesquisadores \u201cde baixo\u201d podem trazer questionamentos n\u00e3o reconhecidos ou assumidos por pesquisadores que comp\u00f5em grupos dominantes, caracter\u00edsticos nas ci\u00eancias da tradi\u00e7\u00e3o.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cO programa da objetividade forte e sua teoria da perspectiva s\u00e3o \u2018l\u00f3gicas de questionamento cient\u00edfico\u2019 org\u00e2nicas para criar \u2018ci\u00eancias exercidas a partir de baixo\u2019\u201d (Harding, 2019, p.156).
