J\u00e1 hav\u00edamos visto <a href=\"https:\/\/www.blogs.unicamp.br\/musicologia\/2019\/04\/03\/14\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">anteriormente<\/a> o processo de gera\u00e7\u00e3o da escala crom\u00e1tica (de 12 notas por oitava). Falaremos agora sobre de uma escala mais simples, por\u00e9m fundamental, formada por 5 notas por oitava. Esta \u00e9 a escala pentat\u00f4nica (ou seja, com 5 notas). Como nas outras escalas, esta tamb\u00e9m pode ser gerada pelo ciclo de quintas que vem da s\u00e9rie harm\u00f4nica. Iniciando, por exemplo, em C, a sua quinta \u00e9 G, cuja quinta \u00e9 D. Por sua vez, a quinta de D \u00e9 A e a quinta de A \u00e9 E. Interrompendo aqui a sequ\u00eancia de quintas, tem-se a seguinte sequ\u00eancia de 5 notas: C, G, D, A, E. Rearranjando as notas dentro de uma mesma oitava, temos: C, D, E, G,A. Esta \u00e9 a escala pentat\u00f4nica de C. A raz\u00e3o da interrup\u00e7\u00e3o do ciclo de quintas em E \u00e9 porque a pr\u00f3xima quinta desta sequ\u00eancia seria um B, o que viria a se aproximar da fundamental (C) de apenas um semitom. Este \u00e9 um intervalo muito pr\u00f3ximo em termos de diferen\u00e7a de frequ\u00eancia. No sistema temperado, quando duas notas com frequ\u00eancia fundamental separadas de 1 semitom (como, por exemplo, B1 e C2) s\u00e3o tocado simultaneamente, tem-se a forma\u00e7\u00e3o de batimentos percept\u00edveis entre ambas, o que gera a sensa\u00e7\u00e3o de uma nova frequ\u00eancia. Por raz\u00f5es que ser\u00e3o explicadas em detalhes em futuros artigos, isto gera o que \u00e9 conhecido em m\u00fasica como \u201cdisson\u00e2ncia\u201d; um tipo de incongru\u00eancia cognitiva no reconhecimento de ambas as notas, o que \u00e9 normalmente relacionado \u00e0 uma sensa\u00e7\u00e3o de desconforto (mas obviamente, nem sempre, como ser\u00e1 oportunamente tratado). Deste modo, a escala pentat\u00f4nica original, n\u00e3o possui esse tipo de disson\u00e2ncia, pois nenhuma combina\u00e7\u00e3o de suas notas estar\u00e1 distanciada por intervalo menor que um tom. Percebe-se que a inclus\u00e3o de semitons nessa escala como que remete a um clima de solenidade, tristeza e tens\u00e3o.<\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"Piano improvisation with Hiraj\u014dshi scale\" width=\"700\" height=\"394\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/0riNbslS0Rk?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>\u00c9 interessante perceber que a subtra\u00e7\u00e3o das notas da escala diat\u00f4nica da escala crom\u00e1tica naturalmente forma uma escala pentat\u00f4nica. O teclado do piano \u00e9 engenhosamente organizado de modo a representar as 3 escalas fundamentais: a crom\u00e1tica, a diat\u00f4nica e a pentat\u00f4nica. Dentro de um intervalo de oitava, tocando todas as notas em sequ\u00eancia, sem pular nenhuma, tem-se a escala crom\u00e1tica, formada por 12 notas por oitava, igualmente espa\u00e7adas de 1 semitom para cada par cont\u00edguo de notas. J\u00e1 entre duas notas brancas separadas por uma oitava, tem-se as 7 notas que descrevem a escala diat\u00f4nica (em um dos 7 modos gregos, que ser\u00e3o aqui vistos). J\u00e1 as notas superiores, pretas, estas formam o conhecido padr\u00e3o de 5 notas por oitava, organizadas em grupos alternados de 3 e 2 notas. Tocadas em sequ\u00eancia, estas descrevem uma escala pentat\u00f4nica. Ser\u00e1 poss\u00edvel perceber que n\u00e3o ocorrer\u00e3o disson\u00e2ncias, n\u00e3o importa a ordem ou quantidade de notas tocadas simultaneamente, dando a impress\u00e3o aos menos avisados que este indiv\u00edduo sabe tocar um pouco de teclado.<\/p>\n<p>Na escala diat\u00f4nica, tem-se disson\u00e2ncias, tanto entre notas cont\u00edguas, como terceiro e o quarto grau, como entre o s\u00e9timo e a repeti\u00e7\u00e3o do primeiro grau, na oitava. Tamb\u00e9m existem tens\u00f5es importantes, como entre o quarto e o s\u00e9timo grau, que formam juntos o intervalo de tr\u00edtono. Conforme mencionado anteriormente, este intervalo na idade m\u00e9dia era considerado o \u201cintervalo do diabo\u201d, devido \u00e0 sua grande tens\u00e3o, e assim costumava ser evitado no canto gregoriano. Este fato provavelmente levou Guido D\u2019Arezzo a criar um pentagrama inicial que descrevia n\u00e3o as 7 notas da escala diat\u00f4nica, mas um hexacorde, constitu\u00eddos pelas 6 primeiras notas da escala diat\u00f4nica, excluindo o s\u00e9timo grau. A escala diat\u00f4nica maior \u00e9 facilmente gerada no teclado do piano. Basta tocar a sequ\u00eancia de notas entre dois C separados por uma oitava (conforme vista na figura acima). No entanto, este \u00e9 apenas um dos 7 modos diat\u00f4nicos poss\u00edveis de serem representados pelas teclas brancas do piano. Apesar de seus nomes gregos, estes modos n\u00e3o tem grande correla\u00e7\u00e3o com os modos gregos antigos (que foram brevemente mencionados anteriormente).
