The compulsory emancipation: The role of Necessity in Plato´s Cave (PART I. Republic VII 514a-515e)
Abstract: This paper will focus on the first part of the Allegory of the Cave (Rep. VII 514a-515e). We will suggest that, in the most elementary interpretative level, the interior of the cave can be read together with the simile of the Sun and the Divided Line (Rep.
