Nano-agricultura para tomates
Quer fazer sucesso? Seja o pioneiro em alguma área da nanotecnologia e rapidamente use novos termos para denominar o que encontrou, não esquecendo de começar com ´nano´.
Esta é a tentativa feita pelo artigo:

Já saem disparando que estão na onda da nano-agricultura. É provável que não sejam eles os pais do termo, mas usam como se estivessem entre os desbravadores.
O artigo impressiona por apresentar uma bela foto de uma comparação entre tomates plantados em um meio sem e com (10 ug/ml e 40ug/ml) nanotubos de carbono.
É visualmente claro que a presença dos nanotubos de carbono ajudaram no desenvolvimento dos tomateiros.
E aqui entra a tradicional ideia que é útil neste tipo de situação: “Alegações extraordinárias exigem evidências extraordinárias” Carl Sagan
Verifiquei o artigo e não encontrei indícios claros de existir repetições criteriosas feitas para garantir a veracidade do efeito da adição de nanotubos de carbono. No final do artigo os autores se protegem de críticas alegando que o efeito pode variar conforme as condições experimentais. Deixaram aberta uma porta para usar a defesa: “mas vocês não fizeram exatamente como nós”.
A justificativa para o sucesso dos nanotubos foi a de que eles poderiam agir como facilitadores do transporte de água para dentro da semente, apressando assim o processo de germinação e crescimento da planta. Mas sem dar detalhes de como isto poderia ocorrer.
Na Figura 5C do artigo, os autores tentam mostrar a presença de nanotubos de carbono nas raízes de uma muda de tomate de 25 dias.
Eu não consigo ver nenhum nanotubo, alguém consegue?
Enviei ontem um e-mail para a equipe de pesquisadores e estou aguardando as informações sobre possíveis repetições e demais condições de controle eventualmente utilizadas e não detalhadas no artigo. Vamos aguardar a resposta.
